China convicts thousands of officials on graft charges every year, but few high-ranked officials have been handed the death sentence.Accepting bribes is one of 55 crimes for which the death sentence is handed out by Chinese courts. China does not release information on the number of executions, classifying it as a “state secret”, although rights groups have estimated, based on media reports, that the country executed more than a thousand people last year – a far higher number than in any other country.

Jitendra,
Hang all does not by it self reduce corruption. If you compare, corruption in China is more compared with other western countries, which have less punishment for the same crime. That is because , in those countries the people have procedures like right to recall , jury system by which the public can replace/punish the corrupt.

Even China has recently introduced Jury sytem.
For more details of jury system, see chapter 21 of www.righttorecall.info/301.pdf
